This book is the third collection of short stories written by Jin Ailan, which consists of eight works. Various characters in the book mostly face the hopeless situation. They are barely exposed to the reality but try to find the vague hope. What is particularly worth mentioning is that five works focus on young women around thirty years old. They portray their psychological states in love, friendship, marriage, work and other aspects, which might arouse the resonance of Chinese female readers.
