A dying young girl inherits ancient magical powers. When Iscariot, a rebellious magician in an age-old order, secretly bestows powers upon Carson, a dying young girl, he throws generations of magical tradition into chaos. As Carson struggles with not only her new powers, but with returning to life after years of sickness, schoolmates who don't remember her, a mother who has hidden her spiraling depression. She discovers that Iscariot's intentions might not have been as altruistic as it first appeared. Burdened with magic she doesn't understand and pursued by representatives of the order who seek to re-balance their broken system of power, Carson must find a way to shed the weight of the past and create a future that is hers and hers alone. From groundbreaking writer-illustrator S.M. Vidaurri ( Iron: Or, the War After, Jim Henson 's Storyteller Witches ) comes a brutal and beautiful coming-of-age fable that combines the melancholy lyricism of The Alchemist with the youthful honesty of Fault in our Stars . Brought to life in stunning watercolor, Iscariot explores the wonder and danger of having the power to forge your own destiny.

My apartment is filled with many animals. I like romance novels, superhero movies, rooms filled with plants and peach iced tea. My first graphic novel Iron: Or The War After was published in 2012 and was nominated for the Graphic Album category in the Pépites 2013 Salon de Montreuil. I read a lot, but for the purposes of my reviews on here, I'll only be writing about the books I absolutely loved, in the hope to support the authors I admire.
