J. R. Armstrong was born and raised in Michigan. She found her passion for writing in the 5th grade. After graduating from Olivet College she got married and lived with her husband in various cities around the United States, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic as he was an athletic trainer in baseball. They have settled back in Michigan where J. R. continues to write.
