
J. G. Shull was born in Germany and raised in Kentucky, though after graduating high school at 17 went off to live at more than 40 addresses. Medicine and science were always present, her mother completed medical school at the age of fifty. This inspired J.G. to complete a BA in Ceramics & Biology at Antioch College and later earn a Masters of Science in medical illustration from the Medical College of Georgia. She worked on surgical simulators in Washington DC and illustrated surgical textbooks. She was a beekeeper with the Peace Corps in Paraguay and has illustrated publications detailing protocols for Ebola and SARS for the World Health Organization. Transplants is her debut novel. She moved back to Europe in 2005 and now lives in Barcelona.
