Juel (JC) Brown has been writing, directing, and acting for over 10 years. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Toronto and a diploma in acting from Sheridan College. JC first wrote the story of The Refining for the stage as a musical. It was performed to sold-out audiences in 2014. In 2020, Juel decided to adapt the story for The Refining series. Juel lives in the Greater Toronto area with her husband Keaton and kids Charlotte and Caleb. JC is a devoted Christian and actively serves in the community.
