I am a retired surgeon. I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1941. I attended school, studied medicine and specialised in surgery in the same city. I was a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I supplemented my surgical experience in London and in Israel. I subsequently emigrated to Denmark where I practised as a surgeon until my retirement in 2008. I published over a hundred and thirty scientific articles in surgical and medical journals and have written a handful of articles for lay magazines. He Does Not Die a Death of Shame is my first novel. I am married and have a son, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.
