Twice Carnegie-nominated YA author I'm a lecturer in creative writing and work with student animators on their story telling and narrative. I have two YA books out now, and am working on a dystopian series set in post-apocalyptic London. I founded Blowfish Books with Lisa Taylor whom I met when studying for my Masters in Creative Writing. I’m fifty on the outside but fifteen on the inside. I love the gallop and the spark in young adult writing, the way it earns every word. I love Mal Peet, Patrick Ness and Moira Young for their crunchy, breathless stories, their big characters and their ways with words. My YA stories are all about that moment of finding yourself, about the truth and what you do with it when you find it.
