I spent most of the first part of my life moving around, from my childhood in Montreal, Canada and the US, to a year in Europe, where I hitchhiked, worked and lived from Paris to a tiny island in Spain, and to Israel, where I volunteered on a dusty kibbutz. I lived in Vancouver for a year and then took a train to the East coast. I did stints at three universities, worked in cafeterias and fast food restaurants, and sorted mail at a post office. What always fascinated me were people and their relationships. I wrote everywhere I went. I married and had two children, who are raising families of their own now. We live in Los Angeles, where I work as a freelance writer, writing magazine articles about the environment and sustainability. I’m still fascinated by people and their relationships. My articles, essays and short stories have been published in journals, magazines and newspapers in the United States, Canada and England. Many of them are on my website: www.janetaird.com
