I was raised in South Africa and started my career as a high school English teacher, followed by research for the consulting industry. For the last 10 years I've had the privilege of living in foreign countries, first in Canada, then Russia for 5 years and currently Portugal. During this time I've worked as a freelance writer and editor. Other than books, I love film, theatre, travel and food/wine. In other words, I have some pretty hedonistic leanings... My first book, East of the Sun, was released in November 2012.
