High-adventure travel guide in the Alaskan bush, the Himalaya of Nepal, and the cycling routes of North America and Europe. I should have died a few years ago in a horrific bike accident. Instead, I woke up and discovered that my passion is writing. I love connecting history and fiction into a braid that seems almost too close to truthful to not be. I joined the Peace Corps in 1987, and that was one of the three biggest changes in my life. Earning my Eagle scout is also in that top three, as is the choice to become a Christian. If you buy a book, 15% of the money goes into the construction of schools in Nepal. In 2023, we hope to build school number 5. My wife, Linda, and I live in rural North Carolina. Our children are grown and gone. When I am not writing, I am training other athletes and leading adventure travel for others around the world.
