I love Pembrokeshire and its coastline, similar in many ways to Devon, the county in which I was born. I married a Pembrokeshire girl in a rural Welsh church. My wife’s aunt and uncle ran a country house hotel in West Wales. They had the misfortune to lose their chef due to illness at the start of one holiday season. Back then I was a college lecturer and my college effectively shut down for two months every summer. For the next few summers we divided our time between the hotel kitchen and the beaches and they never replaced their chef. Since those days my career has spanned university teaching, writing educational software, running courses for hospital laboratory staff, technical editing and leading a global knowledge management team for a computer software company. Now I write crime and action adventure fiction. My wife and I return to Pembrokeshire every summer to revisit its beautiful coastline and to meet with my wife’s childhood friends and their families.
