Jenna Malin is a St. Louis poet and avid live-music lover. She never feels more herself than when she's in the crowd at a show. She derives most of her inspiration from music, and her own life experiences and struggles with severe depression and anxiety. Her debut poetry collection, "Flames Speak", was written and compiled in the height of the pandemic, and released in December 2020. Her sophomore release, "Love Like a Storm", was released less than a year later in August 2021. Malin's collection, "Carnage", was released on October 1st, 2022. It debuted #65 on Amazon's "Death, Grief, and Loss Poetry Bestsellers" list. According to Malin, it is her "deepest, darkest, and most evolved book yet". "It's the best of both of my previous releases," she says. "It's got all the emotion, vulnerability, and depth of 'Flames Speak', and the structural story-telling of 'Love Like a Storm'. It's the most mature and relatable - to poetry lovers and non." Her fourth release, "The Art of Starving", is the compilation of her most vulnerable pieces, chronicling her day-to-day battles with an eating disorder. It was a personal project to help raise money for MOEDA during National ED Awareness Week in February 2023. Her latest book, "Bone Weaving", released on June 11th 2023, debuted at #1 in the "Teen & Young Adult Nonfiction on Physical/Emotional Abuse" category. It's her first-ever chapbook that packs a swift, emotional punch to the heart.
