Jess Webster grew up near Wollongong, Australia. It was her love of strange words (such as carbaminohaemoglobin and glomerulonephritis) that led Jess to study Science (Biotechnology) at the University of Wollongong. In 2008 she completed her first novel, 'The Secret Stealer', which won Best First Book category of the national writing competition IP Picks, and was subsequently published in 2009. Following that she went on to study medicine and became a general practitioner. After the unexpected death of her brother Dave she went on to publish a picture book (not for kids!) entitled ‘Grief: what an a**hole’.
