JoAnn Rackear Goldrich is the author of several published short stories, poems and articles, as well as a number of children’s picture books. As an educator, composer, and writer, she has spent a lifetime among children; at a keyboard; or in front of a computer screen—- the places and spaces wherein her Muses dwell. JoAnn grew up as a Jewish kid in Miami, Florida. Her life has taken her down many different roads...from a religious nineteen year old living in Jerusalem, to her marriage and divorce back in the States...from straight to gay. In the 1970's and 80's she focused on her music and songwriting, performing at local venues and recording a demo of her "greatest hits." As a special educator, she spent many years working with children who were deaf and medically fragile—- only to acquire her own hearing loss following neurosurgery in 2010. As a technical writer, JoAnn's skills are in high-demand; however, her passion and greater talents lie in the literary realm. She currently lives on the west coast of Florida with her partner and their sweet, much loved rescued Maltese, Lilly.
