John Lucas is a poet, critic, biographer, translator and literary historian. He was born in Devon in 1937. He was a Professor English at universities throughout the world, and a Professor Emeritus at the Universities of Loughborough and Nottingham Trent. He has written over 40 books and has been the editor/publisher of Shoestring Press since 1994.
