John Cunningham teaches Film Studies at Sheffield Hallam University, England and at the London Centre, University of Notre Dame, Indiana. He has taught extensively at a number of Hungarian universities including Pécs, ELTE (Budapest), Szeged and Debrecen. He is the author of Hungarian Cinema, From Coffee House to Multiplex (2004).
