John M. Browning is generally known as the inventor of the automatic rifle, pistol, shotgun and Browning machine gun, but he registered 128 patents on more than eighty distinct firearms, including many of the famous models produced by Winchester, Colt, Remington, Savage, and Belgium's Fabrique Nationale.
