Born in Waterford Ireland, and spent my teenage tears as a deck apprentice with Irish Shipping Ltd. hence the book 'Steady as She Goes' is an account of that four years. Having served as a deck officer and Master in the merchant service I retired and spent some years in business before retiring. I spend my time writing and painting and also find time to go fishing in the Atlantic from a small fishing village where I spent all my summer holidays growing up. I like to go on foreign holidays my favourite the Caribbean, where I got some of the subject matter for my two books 'The Atlas Murders' and 'An Auld Bed in Havana'.
