I was brought up and educated in St. Catharines, Ontario, where I wrote a poem called MacBeth, which won first prize poem in the school review and hooked me on writing. An English teacher told me I should be a poet, but I opted not to take the poverty route and went into Engineering at Royal Military College. After a couple of months there, I wondered if poetry might have been better. It was hard. I received a mechanical engineering degree at the University of Toronto and went into the RCAF, working as an aeronautical engineering officer. I retired as a Major and joined Spar Aerospace for a short while, until they fired me. I then joined the Coast Guard as an executive, managing Marine Navigational Services on the Great Lakes Three careers were enough: I retired and began writing. My wife Lynda and I trailered through much of Canada and the States, where I wrote the Dominance series. I always loved action/adventure novels, particularly Robert Ludlum, Tom Clancy, and Jack Higgins with the occasional Arthur C. Clark thrown in. In addition to reading and writing I enjoys walking with my wife in my beautiful city - Toronto
