I was raised by my parents to believe I could do anything I put my mind to. As an Army family, we moved every couple of years to a new location and a new school, and I enjoyed the experience of seeing new places and making more friends. I later graduated from Texas A&M University, and worked in the legal field for the next 10-plus years. Shortly after the birth of my first child, my mother took me into a used book store and bought me a copy of Shanna, by Kathleen Woodiwiss. How many romance writing careers has that book inspired? So taken was I by the genre, that I read every romance I could get my hands on, and began to craft my own as well. Jolie Mathis lives in Texas with her husband and two young children.
