Joshua Bowe resides in Chaska, Minnesota along with his wife, Misty, and children. From 2007 to 2019, he served full-time in the Minnesota National Guard as a member of the 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery. He continues to work for the Minnesota National Guard as an Army civilian. He is a 1992 graduate of Cameron High School in Northwest Wisconsin, and before joining the National Guard, he owned a commercial janitorial company. In 2018, he published "The Ground You Stand Upon: Life of a Skytrooper in Vietnam", the true story of his father's war experience.
