Jules writes, illustrates and Indie Publishes her own children's books. Scared of heights and fennel, Jules lives on an island off the south coast of the UK, with her mostly male family. She has published 9 books, with two more in the pipeline at last count, and maintains that illustrating is 80% of her book invention. She draws every day and eavesdrops on people to give her ideas for new stories. Jules' first book, Vincent & the Vampires, was published in 2012, 20 years after she wrote it as a project for her degree at Plymouth Uni. In that time, she made dummy books of zillions of other ideas, all of which are now waiting to be drawn up so they can get off the shelf. She spends much of her time drinking tea and tittering at daft ideas that occur to her, prior to squirrelling them away in her sketch book.
