Julia L. Roller is the editor/compiler of 25 Books Every Christian Should Read (2011), A Year with Aslan (2010), and A Year with God (2009, with Richard J. Foster). She wrote the spiritual formation guides Learning from Jesus, Connecting with God, Living the Mission, and Prayer and Worship (2006-2007, all with Lynda L. Graybeal), and she was the project editor for The Life with God Bible (2005). She has contributed to many books, including Go Deeper Retreats, Over-the-Top Games for Youth Ministry, Young Adult Ministry in the Twenty-First Century, Five-Minute Devotions, Plugging in Parents and The Preteen Worker's Encyclopedia of Bible Teaching Ideas. She has written study guides for authors such as Desmond Tutu, Richard J. Foster, Henri Nouwen, Barbara Brown Taylor, Jenna Bush and Rob Bell. Her articles have appeared in The San Francisco Chronicle, Street Spirit, Group, Rev.!, and Children's Ministry. She was a contributing editor to Group for several years. Julia holds a master's of journalism from the University of California, Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism, and a master's of theological studies from the Pacific School of Religion. She wrote both her master's theses on the history of missions to Native Americans. She lives in San Diego, CA with her husband, two sons and a miniature dachshund named Jane Austen. Julia is an active member of MOPS and serves as a deacon in her local church, Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church.
