My last deployment was the hardest. I knew exactly what I wanted and how to get it. Until my future was almost taken away. One simple request – stay safe – haunted me day and night. It was a promise that I couldn’t keep and when I returned home, I was ready to confess my secrets. But secrets weren’t the only obstacle Cami and I had to overcome. Our love, trust and faith in each other was tested forcing us to realize that before we could have a future, we needed to confront our past.

I was first indoctrinated into the romance genre by my babysitter who watched hours upon hours of daytime soap operas. I harbored many inappropriate crushes on fictional characters such as John Black from “Days of Our Lives,” Orry Main from the min-series “North & South,” and Edward Fairfax Rochester from Jane Eyre. I am still in love with Davy Jones from The Monkees. I currently live in the Southwest with my husband, tiny four-year-old terror, and a tuxedo cat with a limp.
