Part of Series

My name is Jessa. I’m eighteen and hopelessly in love with my best friend Stacey’s older brother, Josh. I’ve had a crush on Josh since I was ten and he was twenty-two, but of course, he never noticed me. He’s always possessed a darkness about him that I was drawn to like a moth to the flame and all I wanted was to be in his light. Unfortunately for me, with twelve years between us, I’ve always been just his little sister’s best friend and nothing more. When I was fifteen, Josh moved across the country for a girl and my desperate heart split in two. But I’m eighteen now and Josh and his girlfriend split up a week ago. She cheated on him with his best friend, so he’s moving back home. I haven’t seen him in three years and I’m losing my mind over the entire situation. Especially since I’ve been saving all my firsts for him. When I see him, it’s like nothing has changed. He looks nearly the same but more muscled and even more handsome. His darkness that was so alluring before is now as intimidating as it always was intoxicating. He’s grown bitter and angry in the three years since I’ve last seen him and I don’t know if I’ve got what it takes to keep a man like him satisfied. A man whose soul is dark and twisted in the worst and best ways imaginable.
