Melick was born in Miami and spent 5 years in Southeast Asia. A lifelong student of history, Melick began his career as a crime reporter before joining the film industry. He has also worked as a security contractor. He is currently on an undisclosed island writing the next book due to a $10 million bounty placed on his head by the Global Warriors of Liberation.
