With a deep and dark love for the awful and macabre, K.C. prides herself on the shadows she weaves in her works. Trauma, mental illness, and death are rarely written with the darkness they are built upon and seldom accurately depict the nightmares some struggle with on a daily basis. Life is not all sunshine and rainbows with a happy ending. K.C. has made a promise to herself to never gloss over the dreadful parts of being alive. She doesn't hold back in depicting the worst parts of humanity, often digging into the raw and horrible emotional, mental, and physical toll trauma and mental illness can take on the victims. K.C. does write of the beautiful and wonderful parts of life as well; love, self acceptance, and the better parts of humanity are present to balance the darkness. She writes of monsters and villains, but also heroes and the brave. So buckle up, buttercup. You're in for a wild ride. K.C. can be found writing furiously at her book-filled desk at home, being a vampire at a hospital by night, or trying to control her three cats and one dog from killing each other or from stealing literally anything left on the counter (looking at you, Dave).
