Kaija/Kai was born and raised in upstate NY, in the Adirondack mountains. While living in the US was okay, unless paid a whole lot, xie will never move back. Xie started writing when xie turned 11 and hasn't ever stopped, as evidenced by the massive amount of notebooks and digital files of xyr writing xie has hanging around. Xie identifies as queer, because xie fits many of the letters of the QUILTBAG/LGBTQQIP2SAA acronyms. Xie is autistic and offers autistic parental guidance via Patreon. Xie is also ADHD, has C-PTSD, OCD, chronic severe depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and has acted as an advocate for all of the above as well as for bullied and harassed people. Unfortunately, Kai has far more experience with being harassed and bullied than any human should have to deal with. Xie doesn't do a lot with social media these days, but email is a good way to reach xem. Xie holds a B.A in bioanthropology/forensic chemistry and an ABT MST in education/world history. Xie loved University, so holds minors in English, Literary Fiction, Creative Writing, English Lit, Linguistics, Graphic Design, Folklore, Medieval History, and Modern Dance. Xyr hobbies include reading, spinning with a spinning wheel, cooking, knitting, sewing, drawing, cartography, graphic design, and making jewellery. Xyr day job is as an editor. Xie works with Gamelit, LITRPG, romance, SFF, and children's books (not YA). Xie currently lives in Southern Ontario, Canada with xyr partner of 24 years, their two kids, three cats who put meaning to the phrase 'foot fetishist', and a grumpy rescue chinchilla.
