
Karanam Pavan Prasad (Kannada: ಕರಣಂ ಪವನ್ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್) is an accomplished Indian author, artist, and playwright in the Kannada language. He garnered recognition through his debut novel Karma (ಕರ್ಮ), followed by his second work Nunni. Prasad was born in the Bangalore district of Karnataka. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Bangalore University. His involvement in theatrical productions gradually led him to Kannada literature. One of his noteworthy achievements was his second play, "Purahara," which received accolades from theatre enthusiasts. Prasad played the role of Arab Adil Shaw in this production. In 2013, he took a hiatus from theater to concentrate on his novel "Karma." During this period, he received valuable guidance from the renowned novelist S. L. Bhyrappa. Karma was later translated into English. His second novel Nunni was released on 25 September 2015. It made a critical analysis of Christian missionaries. Nun is the protagonist. Prasad was than listed as a prominent Kannada writer. His 'Mother Elisa' character resembles Mother Teresa, It raised significant debates about truth, harmony, and service. His novel Grastha considered science and philosophy based on Indian aesthetics. Subsequently, he authored a novel titled "Rayakonda" in the dark humor genre, which garnered varied responses and was subsequently hailed as a new direction in his writing style and intellectual journey.
