Kate Hardie began her design career in Leeds within the newspaper industry where she spent the next 7 years working on publications such as the Yorkshire Post, Yorkshire Evening News, Absolute Leeds and The Metro to name but a few. Her determination and tenacity to succeed in everything that she embarks on, led Kate to work freelance, where she followed her passion for creating original abstract artwork. This led to a contract with a large chain of hotels and corporate head offices as well as an extensive portfolio of private commissions. From here, Kate moved on to the agency side of the sector where she has expanded her graphic design expertise for the last 11 years. A keen creative cook, Kate recently published her first Gluten-Free family recipe book “Can I Eat It?”. Maintaining full control of the publication, Kate, planned her recipes, made them, fine tuned them, tested them on many guinea pigs, created the food styling, photographed them, designed the book and created the e-book, with no food and prop stylists, food photographers, editors or designers intervention. Kate is currently the Creative Director at Handcart Media which she co-owns with her husband Jamie. Both originally from Cheshire, Kate and her husband have 3 children aged 5, 4 and 18 months. Life consists of juggling lots of plates big and small.
