I am a poet, and Dr. Seuss is my hero. I write in rhyme—usually iambic or anapestic tetrameter—because the rhythm engages young children and helps them learn to read. (Plus it's fun!) I'm also an artist. I love to play with textures. For book illustrations, I often combine mixed media with elements from my photography work, then use a computer to synthesize and process the final "digital collage" images.
