Kat Mattingly is a college educator, professional editor, award winning author and public speaker. She has taught numerous writing courses in the English and Communications departments of four private colleges. Her debut novel, Benjamin (2013) was a New Century Publishing quarterly finalist and her short story collection, Fractured Hearts (2014) includes five award winning stories. Her fifth novel, Katya (2022) won two awards for outstanding fiction in its category. Other titles include Journey (2015) Olivia's Ghost (2016) The Tutor (2018) and her newest release, Finley's Song (2025). Kat lives on the high desert in Central Oregon with her husband, Dennis, and a Maine Coon cat named Atticus.
