Katy Lang was born and raised in the vast flatness that is Oklahoma, where it’s easy to dream of something bigger than rolling plains and the wind that sweeps down them. Her debut novel, The Bird and the Blood, was born from several decades of that dreaming. That, and consuming every scrap of fantasy she could get her hands on. She writes stories she wants to read—ones that are high stakes, heart throbbing, and filled with magic, monsters, misunderstood misfits, and—most importantly—vampires. When she isn't plotting new dark and devious ways to torture her imaginary friends, she cares for her young son and a veritable zoo of pets with her loving and ever-patient husband and probably has something caffeinated close by.
