Keith McCabe is an American indie author whose works span a variety of genres from mystery suspense, psychological thrillers, and horror. McCabe's immersive brand of storytelling often features ambitious, intelligent characters embroiled in harrowing situations. Themes of isolation and abandonment are a mainstay of McCabe's novels, yet each book remains richly distinct. McCabe's "hit the ground running" approach to writing places the plot front and center, allowing his characters free rein to discover answers on their own, often at tremendous personal cost. In addition to the use of plot as an unavoidable driving force, McCabe frequently weaves real-world mysteries into his fiction, creating an intoxicating blend of reality intermingled with make-believe. In "Rabbit King," McCabe's third novel, he incorporated Goya's "Black Paintings" and the Gardner museum art heist to flesh out the mythology of the mysterious Rabbit King, an urban legend that has persisted in the world of art for centuries. And in "Pain Diary," McCabe's sixth novel, themes of the Garden of Eden persist throughout Eave's tragic story while she attempts to locate her conniving biological mother. His obsession with storytelling began in childhood with books such as Scary Stories and Goosebumps, as well as a deluge of '70s and '80s horror films. Some of his favorite authors include Peter Straub, Joyce Carol Oates, James Jones, and Shirley Jackson. McCabe's use of the real world fused with fiction has been inspired by authors such as Norman Mailer and James Ellroy. McCabe released his first book in December of 2019, "Deb Dawson Psychic & Spiritualist." He later renamed his first novel to "Jersey Graves" upon the publication of the second book in the series, "Jersey Gothic." The Deb Dawson books is his only series thus far. McCabe published his first six books in four years. In order of publication, his books are as follows: Jersey Graves (originally titled Deb Dawson Psychic & Spiritualist) Victims & Hunters Rabbit King Jersey Gothic Director's Cut Pain Diary Keith McCabe attended the Court Reporting Institute from 2006 to 2011.
