An unusual genre : Ketherstone Ridge is an historical novel that is interwoven with a central musical thread. Set mostly in Victorian England, it follows the lives of a widower and his young daughter who escape disease-ridden London and settle in a Cotswold village. Their lives are punctuated with both joy and tragedy. Their story is one of conflict and concord, humour and hubris, trial and an observation of the human spirit when vastly different social and economic strata meet head-on. The musical thread serves to bind and to enrich lives - across generations and across socio-economic barriers.
