Proud to hail from Brooklyn when the weak still got killed and eaten. Started writing at eight (have the marble notebooks to prove it) when I didn't have many friends and had to find a way to get through recess on my own. A few years later I began sketching violent scenes as a private retaliation to being picked on. Shudder to think what would've happened to me if I was in HS post-Columbine. "Discovered" Washington Square Park when I was fourteen like generations of others, then later further east. Junkie at sixteen, rehab a eighteen. At nineteen I was a pro-domme, which is where the concept of my first novel Sex, Blood and Rock'n'Roll germinated. After uni, I lived in London for too-short a time, and miss it terribly. Recently transplanted to "sunny" (haha) Portland with my husband, three cats and five rats; spend my time writing my next book, drinking at dive bars, and looking up at the huge fuck-off Redwoods.
