Tony and Mike Cupelli leave Queens in search of Tony's love Veronica Teuma who has disappeared while visiting the intentional communities of Northern Missouri. Immersed in the off the grid life of the Discerning Wolverine community, they uncover a plan to Mass cultivate, and distribute Datura, and they realize Veronica's rescue relies on their ability to figure out which, if any, of the commune's members they can trust with their lives.
