Fresh out of rehab, Rayne McQuaid wants a stress-free Christmas. She's determined not to fall back into her old coping mechanisms. So when she learns her father is dying—a man she ran from the moment she turned eighteen—her first inclination is to leave the old curmudgeon on his own. But her brother shouldn't be left to deal with all the issues on his own, so at the urging of her friend, Dixon, she books tickets and boards the plane. So much for avoiding stress. And only adding to her stress are the unexplainable feelings of attraction she’s suddenly having for her best friend, actor Dixon Nash. Dixon is really happy that Rayne finally took his advice to go through rehab. He's even more pleased when she agrees to go home and deal with some of the pain of her past. Now if only she'd recognize her need of a Savior. He has to keep his feelings for her in check until then. Can a Christmas kitten named Star point the way to the Answer she so desperately needs?
