L.C. Candar lives in a hundred years old house located in the very center of Prague, the beautiful ancient capital of the Czech Republic, that she shares with her husband (the big bad wolf), four goldfish, two newts (called Mr. Tasty and Mr. Juicy) and a huge dieffenbachia plant. Throw in some moths lured in by the light of her late night writing and you have a zoo. Or an asylum. Possibly both, which makes it a cozy, merry place. Published since 2002 in the Czech Republic, with over 30 works published in print under her belt, she writes mainly fantasy, sci-fi and supernatural stories ranging from a variety of genres from horrors to romance. She is well known for her strong characters and fast-paced stories. L.C. Candar decided to start writing in English and became a full time novelist after she was repeatedly told that it would be utterly impossible for a “small Czech writer” like herself. Let’s say, she generally likes to prove people wrong and usually succeeds at doing so. When she doesn’t write her own novels, she makes her living as a professional copywriter and ghost writer in both the Czech and English language. That said, she spends much more time on novels than toilet paper sale leaflets these days, which makes her very happy.
