Lanie Tiffenbach is a native of Minnesota and grew up in the area where her immigrant ancestors had settled some generations earlier. Interesting facts and rich family lore uncovered in her intensive genealogical and historical research inspired her to tell the stories of her brave women ancestors, covering a time period from the 1850s through the 1930s. Lanie is also an avid quilter and incorporated the history of quilting and the women's love for quilting as a secondary theme that ties the stories together. The novel is beautifully illustrated with photos of vintage and reproduction quilts, as well as over 100 wonderful old photos and paper ephemera.
