Laurie Fullerton has had a long journalistic career, much of which has been spent as one of the few women covering the international world of yachting. Her sailing and travel writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, The Seattle Times, The Toronto Globe and Mail and The Miami Herald as well as national magazines SAIL, Sailing World and SAILING. A first-time novelist, Fullerton has also published three travel guidebooks: Vacations in the Maritimes, New Caledonia, and The Philippines Handbook.
