Linda Chell Rooney, writing as L.C. Rooney, is the author of the Riley Russell mystery series. The first book, Secrets & Lies, was published in May 2021. While a legal secretary back in the days of carbon paper and onionskin copies, she convinced her first boss to pay for her paralegal training. She still considers that to be the most fun she’s ever had working until she began writing fiction…about a paralegal. While there may be some similarities between the author and her protagonist Riley Russell, the latter is savvier, younger, and more willing to confront danger than the former. Let’s face it: there’s a lot to be said for only having to think, dream, and write about criminals rather than face down the real thing in dark places. When not actively at work on Riley's next adventure, Rooney can usually be found brewing the perfect cup of coffee to fuel the next chapter or dreaming up novel places to dispose of dead bodies. Rooney is a member of Mystery Writers of America, Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance, and Sisters in Crime.
