Lea O'Harra is the pen name of Wendy Jones Nakanishi, adopted for publication of her so-called Inspector Inoue mystery series, including 'Imperfect Strangers' (2015); 'Progeny' (2016); and 'Lady First' (2017), all published by Endeavour Press (UK) and set in rural present-day Japan. Nakanishi is American, a long-term resident of Japan and, latterly, of the UK. She was a full-time professor of English literature and language at a private Japanese university for thirty-six years, retiring in the spring of 2020, when she moved to the UK, alternating her residence between Japan and England. She is the wife of a Japanese farmer and the mother of three sons. She has published widely—book reviews, academic monographs, and book reviews—on 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st century English and Japanese literature as well as 'creative non-fiction' articles about her life in Japan. Her most recent publication is 'Dead Reckoning,' a standalone murder mystery set in small-town America published in 2022 by Sharpe Books (UK) which has also reissued the three Inspector Inoue novels.
