Ava is turning 16 and is confused about what she wants in life. She has a loving and supporting home with her father and stepmother, but ever since being abandoned by her mother, she has been consumed by the longing to just be loved by her. Ava looks back onto memories from her childhood. She relives the trauma and disappointment of her mother. By retelling her memories, she explains how she became shackled to her mother.
