Once upon a time, a selfish king summoned the monstrous Bulkirin into the real world. The monster killed half of all human beings, leaving the rest helpless as to what to do. That is, until one day when a hero appeared and defeated the Bulkirin with the legendary "Seven Blade Sword." But...what does all this have to do with eighth grader Eun-Gyo Sung?! First, she gets suspended from school for fighting. Then, she runs away from home. The last thing she needed was to be kidnapped - and whisked into the past by a mysterious stranger named No-Ah!

With the help of Eun-Gyo and No-Ah, the "princess" Nak-Rang escapes her captors. But just when they think they're out of the woods, the high priest Ho-Dong stops them at the dried up Mother Lake. There, a battle ensues...and a miracle happens.

Even after learning No-Ah's true intentions, Eun-Gyo agrees to help him search for the Seven Blade Sword - as long as he promises to keep her safe. When the trio stumbles out of the lush forest into a barren desert, No-Ah suspects another blade of the sword is the cause. But before they have a chance to investigate, they are caught in the middle of a power struggle at the village temple. Rumors of the temple monks' magical flute sound promising, but what can No-Ah do when he's locked up in prison?

No-Ah's in bad shape after the blaze that destroyed the Mansion of Night Jessamine. He can't remember much about that night, but the memories of his former life remain on his mind. He was indeed the wielder of the Seven Blade Sword all those centuries ago. If he played a part in the sword's history, no doubt Eun-Gyo and Ho-Dong were involved in the legend of the blade as well. But before he can delve into the mysteries of the past, he must confront the problem at hand. Rumors of the demon on Mount Mai lead the trio further into the desert. They expected to find a blade of the Seven Blade Sword, but they never expected him to look so...familiar.

No-Ah discovers that if all the blades of the seven blade sword are gathered, the Bulkirin will be freed from its seal and destroy the world. But he is more concerned about Eun-Gyo learning the truth and being hurt than the world's peril. Meanwhile, when Ho-Dong encounters Poong at the cave, it is revealed that he's a spy from the shaman!

While Ho-Dong and Poong head to the mountains to recruit two more blades of the Seven Blade Sword - the violent Gong and quiet Soo - Hwa is forced to come clean about her identity to No-Ah. Conflict abounds, and as the players in this drama are drawn to Gong and Soo's abode, it will become apparent to some that fulfilling a centuries-old love is still an uphill battle!

Eun-Gyo may have just realized the extent of her feelings for No-Ah, but she has not time to lose in proving it! With the object of her affection at death's door after Ho-Dong's betrayal, the tables have turned. Now Eun-Gyo has to do the saving, and she's faced with using all the resources at her disposal to save No-Ah...but is she willing to go so far as to give up her own life for his?!

Painfully aware of the fate that lies ahead of Eun-Gyo should either the Shaman or the Bulkirin succeed in their respective goals involving the Seven-Blade-Sword, No-Ah asks Eun-Gyo to run away with him to a place where they can never be found. But Eun-Gyo refuses to allow the world to be destroyed because of her cowardice. The Shaman, however, is not ready to let anyone get in her way and informs the crestfallen Ho-Dong of the whereabouts of the last blade of the original sword...Hwa!
