Leila's debut novel Shadows and light is the first in the Power Born Series. She had always dreamed of writing a novel since her late teens, having been fascinated with all things fantasy and paranormal since she was a kid. But her passion to be creative led her into acting, performing in numerous Film and TV productions over the course of a decade. During this time Leila became involved in producing short films which naturally evolved into writing her own film scripts. Over the years she had jotted down ideas and characters for her Power Born story but only seriously started writing in 2018, when after reading another one of her favourite young adult fantasy novels, she decided she had put it off long enough, it was about time she put on her big girl pants and get writing. Everyone has to start somewhere, right! When not writing or acting Leila is virtually a real life mermaid, living on the South West coast of England she enjoys daily swims in the sea….even in the peak of winter!
