
Leo LaFleur has received National recognition from CCBC’s Best Books for Kids and Teens Magazine in Canada, and was shortlisted for the Alice Kitts Memorial Award for Excellence in Children’s Writing. Leo has most recently won a Dr. Marylin Trenholme Counsell Literacy Award through the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick. His poetry was featured this fall in Queen’s Quarterly Magazine, and he is currently Producing two musical scores for his upcoming reading tour of his critically acclaimed series, The Errand, that kicks off at The Imperial Theatre on Oct 24th. Leo is currently working on a nature inspired book with a focus on Saint John landscapes with international photographer Mark Hemmings (www.markhemmings.com), and just recently finished a short story for adults dealing with themes of mental illness, poverty, and greed. Leo loves to learn about plants and trees, ride his motorcycle, and is largely inspired by people and nature.
