Liane Copeland is the pseudonym of author Janet McClendon. Janet is a retired paralegal and a graduate of Auburn University. After decades as a legal professional, Janet decided to turn to her longtime love of writing. “I fell in love with Southern Gothic while in college. When you grow up in the deep south, storytelling is simply a part of life.” Janet is a transplanted Alabamian currently living in San Antonio, Texas with her husband, Greg. After purchasing a historic home in Birmingham where Margaret Mitchell had lived as a society writer for the Birmingham News, Janet decided to write her first book. “I imagined Mitchell contemplating her future characters while sitting on the charming window seat in my sunroom. I channeled her tenacity and made the decision to go for it.” After taking a writing hiatus for a couple of years, Janet is back at it and finishing up several projects. “Sometimes life creeps up and clobbers us from behind, and we need take a little break. I’m thrilled to be back at it.”
