Changing fate is not so easy, especially when Life and Death are trying to change it with you. Diana has suffered from the hands of the kings of Angelios. She has betrayed her soulmate to keep her family alive and even though her loved ones are safe, Diana is haunted by her betrayal. As her life on Isla De Los Dioses continues, Diana is determined to get her revenge on King Damien, even if it costs her own life. Unfortunately, she was not raised in court and politics, so trying to learn who to trust is a challenge in itself - and when people constantly beg her to save them, she finds she has no pity for them. All she wants is a dead king and she will not be a martyr for the people. Nathaniel, on the other hand, battles with his internal feelings, trying to justify Diana’s actions. In the midst of this, his magic is rallying against him, urging him to fight his siblings for the throne… a kingdom he does not want. And yet when Death appears at his door, warning him to protect his soulmate or else past events will occur, Nathaniel has to rethink if his anger is really worth it. Especially if it leads both of them to their death. Unbeknownst to them, Life is desperately trying to change fate, while Death wants everything to run its course. Together, on opposite kingdoms, Diana and Nathaniel are forced to learn memories of their past lives and just how much it has impacted the war. It might just be that the war between Ignotum and Isla de Los Dioses started with them.
