A Stanley Cup loss is not what Andrew Fisher planned to spend his summer recovering from. Especially when he's the one responsible for it. At least according to anyone who has ever even said the word hockey. That's how he finds himself in Lake Placid, off the grid, staying in Jamie Thompson's basement with his dog Roscoe. Coach told him to do some soul searching, and there's no better place for it than where no one knows who he is. Or so he thought. Reeling from the loss of her best friend, Danielle Spencer is thrown into the world of single-mom life, and running a small business of her own. The last thing she's interested in is a six-foot-three hockey player who makes an idiot of himself the minute he steps into her bookstore. Grief has her heart in pieces, and she definitely does not need Andrew Fisher there to try and put it back together. But, when she sees the way he loves her best friend's daughter, and his gentle pursuit of friendship and then something more... she might just have to give in.
